A temporary 7.5tonne weight restriction was implemented on the majority of Idle Bank in October 2022, to help with issues along the road and appropriate signing is in place advising motorists of the order.

We are now proposing to make this restriction permanent and notice is hereby given that North Lincolnshire Borough Council proposes to make an Order under Sections 1(1), 2(1) to (4) and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to impose a 7.5 tonnes and over, except for loading, weight restriction on the length of Idle Bank between Thorne Road and Wroot Road, and the length of Idle Bank between Poles Bank and Cove Rd.

The attached drawing shows the extent of the scheme. Also attached is a copy of the statutory notice and statement of reasons.

Any objections to the proposal specifying the grounds on which they are made should be sent in writing to either the Traffic Safety Team, Billet Lane, Normanby Enterprise Park, Scunthorpe DN15 9YH or traffic@northlincs.gov.uk not later than 16 May 2024.
