Polling arrangements under review

Your Council
17:21, Tuesday, 10th September 2019

North Lincolnshire Council is carrying out a review of its polling districts and places (stations) to make sure that electors across our area can access voting facilities, including ensuring that polling stations are accessible to voters with disabilities.

The council is required to review its polling districts and polling places every five years. This helps us make sure that polling arrangements reflect changes in population.

Residents are invited to suggest locations that could be used as polling stations – if they are not already – and outline any problems they may have accessing current polling stations. We are particularly interested in the views of residents with a disability, who may find it more difficult to access a polling station.

Views are also welcome on the boundaries of polling districts. A polling station may welcome voters from one or more polling districts.

Views should be emailed to Electoral Services on elections@northlincs.gov.uk, or posted to Electoral Services, North Lincolnshire Council, Church Square House, 30-40 High Street, Scunthorpe, DN15 6NL, before 6 October 2019.

Following the review period, residents’ feedback will help form a draft proposal for further consideration.

The North Lincolnshire area includes the Scunthorpe parliamentary constituency, and parts of the constituencies of Brigg and Goole, and Cleethorpes.
