Closed circuit television (CCTV) in North Lincolnshire
CCTV is used as a valuable tool to assist with public safety and security and to protect property.
The council uses CTTV in areas (including those in and around the town centre) and also:
- in some council buildings
- at recycling centres
- as body worn cameras on community wardens
- on refuse collection vehicles.
Our CCTV Policy [PDF, 246Kb] sets out a consistent approach for the use of CCTV surveillance.
Why we need CCTV
We use CCTV cameras to:
- increase personal security and create a safer environment
- enhance property and vehicle security
- reduce the fear of crime – helping to make North Lincolnshire a safer place to live and work
