Closed circuit television (CCTV) in North Lincolnshire

CCTV is used as a valuable tool to assist with public safety and security and to protect property.

The council uses CTTV in areas (including those in and around the town centre) and also:

  • in some council buildings
  • at recycling centres
  • as body worn cameras on community wardens
  • on refuse collection vehicles.

Our CCTV Policy [PDF, 246Kb] sets out a consistent approach for the use of CCTV surveillance.

Why we need CCTV

We use CCTV cameras to:

  • increase personal security and create a safer environment
  • enhance property and vehicle security
  • reduce the fear of crime – helping to make North Lincolnshire a safer place to live and work

CCTV control centre

Our CCTV control centre operates 24 hours a day, 365 days a year providing instant responses to incidents in direct contact with the Humberside Police control room.
