Volunteers’ Week, which takes place from 1 to 7 June, is an opportunity to celebrate volunteers who make huge contributions to our North Lincolnshire communities every day.

Many local community groups, sports clubs, parish council and charities are run by volunteer committees, who all play a part in running social events and activities that bring people together.

If you are part of one of these and would like to raise funds, then there’s no better time to become a Lincs Lotto good cause. Winterton Bowls Club did and are now one of the good causes benefiting from Lincs Lotto funds.

One of the clubs volunteers said:

“Winterton Bowling Club loves Lincs Lotto, our ticket holders are regular winners and the whole membership benefits from the money raised for our club.”

Launched in 2017, Lincs Lotto is North Lincolnshire’s community lottery and funds directly benefit many volunteer run groups, once they are signed up. Sixty pence from each £1 Lincs Lotto ticket sold goes towards local good causes across North Lincolnshire.

Shires Bowls Club joined Lincs Lotto in October 2018. One of the volunteers said:

“Joining could not have been easier and the staff were so very helpful in assisting some of our older players who do not have access to IT facilities, but wished to join the scheme.

“The club receives regular emails on our progress and posters that we can circulate to our members. We have raised money towards good causes and our local community, some of which has helped towards providing our club with a new irrigation system.”

Tickets for Lincs Lotto can be bought online at the Lincs Lotto website, with players in with a chance of winning a cash prize between £25 and £25,000 each week.

North Lincolnshire Council appointed Gatherwell Ltd as the external lottery manager for Lincs Lotto.
