Save money on your energy bills with a hassle-free switch

Many householders are frustrated with the high energy costs, which is why the council is committed to seeking better deals through Big Community Switch.

Big Community Switch is a no-obligation, hassle-free way of cutting your gas and electric bills.

The scheme has been running since August 2013 and has saved local households collectively more than £100,000 on fuel bills.

All you have to do is register your interest before 21 June 2023 by filling a form with your details, current energy supplier and your gas and electricity consumption – this information will be on your latest bill.

The council has invited energy suppliers to take part in an auction on 21 June 2023. They will be bidding against each other to offer the best deal.

The winning supplier will be the one making the lowest offer, and the more households that take part the greater our negotiating power.

Everyone who has registered will receive an email from 3 July 2023 telling them about the offer and how much money they can save.

There is no obligation to take up the offer, but if you decide to accept you have until 31 July 2023 to let us know.

The council takes care of the switch – it won’t involve engineers calling at your home, you will simply receive a notification when it has gone through.

You can just sit back and enjoy the fact you are saving money!
