The period leading up to 5 November is always a busy one for North Lincolnshire Council’s Trading Standards. All premises selling fireworks are required to register with us, and our officers inspect shops to make sure that fireworks are kept safely and sold legally.
If you’re buying fireworks to celebrate Bonfire Night this November, for your family’s safety, make sure that you only buy from reputable shops, and make sure that any fireworks you buy are properly labelled with the ‘CE’ mark.
Shopkeepers are reminded that it is an offence to sell fireworks to anyone under 18 and a fine of up to £5,000 can be incurred by those who disobey the law.
If you suspect fireworks are being stored or sold illegally, contact us on 01724 297000, email trading.standards@northlincs.gov.uk, or message us via Facebook.
