Players, fans, and local residents will enjoy improved facilities at Bottesford Sports Hall, thanks to a £31,071 grant from North Lincolnshire Council’s Community Grant Fund.

The funding will enable Bottesford Town Football Club to refurbish and upgrade key areas of the sports hall, creating a more welcoming and better-equipped space for training sessions, matches, and wider community use.

It comes on top of recent UK Shared Prosperity Fund grants totalling more than £200,000 for the sports hall, as well as £8,800 to install solar and battery power

Cllr Rob Waltham, leader of North Lincolnshire Council, said: “This investment will make a real difference for Bottesford Town FC and everyone who uses the sports hall.

“Local sports clubs are at the heart of our communities – they bring people together, inspire young players, and help residents stay active and connected.”

Cllr John Davison, cabinet member for community wellbeing (urban) said: “Bottesford Town is a thriving local club and our Community Grant Fund is there to support projects just like this – helping local groups grow, improve their facilities and provide fantastic opportunities for people of all ages.

“I am proud that the council has now invested over £250k in supporting young people, parents, grandparents and families to have the best possible facilities here in Bottesford.”

In recent years, Bottesford Town has also received significant support from North Lincolnshire Council, working in partnership with the Football Foundation, Lincolnshire FA, and other stakeholders to secure a £1.5 million grant for the development of an enhanced pitches and improved facilities.

Since launching in 2011, the Community Grant Fund has pumped millions into grassroots projects across North Lincolnshire, from sports clubs and youth groups to charities and parish councils, helping to strengthen communities and support local talent.

Grants are available for junior and youth groups, charitable bodies, co-operatives, not-for-profit organisations, and individuals demonstrating excellence in sport, art or culture. Support is also available for venue hire, helping keep community spaces open and active.
