A new charter has been signed that sets out a new relationship between public sector organisations and the voluntary and community sector in North Lincolnshire.

The charter – signed by representatives of the North Lincolnshire Health and Wellbeing Board, other public sector organisations and voluntary groups – recognises the importance of the work voluntary and community groups do, and commits to closer future collaboration.

By sharing information and intelligence, the new partnership hopes to be able to respond to challenges more effectively, and reduce duplication and therefore better utilise resources.

Cllr Elaine Marper, cabinet member responsible for Resident Engagement and Governance, said:

“Each of our organisations has a strong track record of providing brilliant essential services for residents in North Lincolnshire, and we do have a history of working together. However, this new charter strengthens that relationship, and ensures that public sector organisations and voluntary and community groups are all pulling in the same direction, for the benefit of North Lincolnshire’s residents.”

The charter has been signed by representatives of North Lincolnshire Council; Humberside Fire and Rescue; Humberside Police; Ongo; Voluntary Action North Lincolnshire; Rotherham, Doncaster and South Humber NHS Foundation Trust; North Lincolnshire Clinical Commissioning Group; Northern Lincolnshire and Goole NHS Foundation Trust, and; DN Colleges Group.
