A new 20mph speed limit has been proposed for a raft of streets in Barton town centre in a bid to further improve road safety.
The plans would see the speed limit reduced on Fleetgate, George Street and more than 20 other roads in the bustling town.
Cllr Rob Waltham, leader of North Lincolnshire Council, said: “We are constantly exploring new measures to improve our road network and elsewhere 20mph schemes have been shown to be effective in greatly improving safety in communities.
“We really want people now to have their say on the proposals.”
The proposals were first approved in the council’s budget earlier this year.
Reducing traffic speeds has been shown to reduce the number of collisions and lower the risk of serious and fatal injury when they do.
Residents can access further information on the council website.
