Election day 2019: What you need to know

Your Council
19:56, Wednesday, 11th December 2019

Polls are open from 7am to 10pm on Thursday 12 December 2019 for the Parliamentary General Election. Make sure you use your vote.

Your poll card will show which is your polling station, but you don’t need your poll card with you to vote.

If you’re a postal voter and you haven’t posted your vote yet, you can complete your postal vote and hand it in at any polling station in your constituency.

If you become ill, or cannot vote yourself due to last minute work commitments, you can apply for an emergency proxy vote until 5pm on election day.

As temperatures are forecast to fall below freezing tonight (Thursday 11 December), our gritters will be out. Extra roads have been added to the gritting routes for today to help voters safely access all polling stations.

Once polls have closed, the count for the Brigg and Goole and Scunthorpe constituencies will take place at The Pods on Ashby Road in Scunthorpe. Follow North Lincolnshire Council on Twitter for live updates from the count.
