Sue Parsons has been a school crossing patrol for 30 years helping people and families cross the road safely and pupils, teachers, parents and pedestrians have joined the council in thanking Sue for her dedication.
Sue patrols Manor Road crossing in Bottesford for Bottesford Infant School and Bottesford Junior School pupils.
She was presented with a bouquet of flowers and a special card. As well as a long-service certificate and badge.
Sue has been on Manor Road since her first day and has thoroughly enjoyed it, she said:
“Many children have come across the road with me over the years. I’ve watched these children grow up and then seen them then bring their children across the road.
“I’ve known the children from being babies to the age of 16. I also work at Frederick Gough School in the kitchen so see many of them there and some have attended by cub pack.”
Cllr Tim Mitchell, cabinet member for connectivity, said:
“Well done to Sue on this amazing milestone, you have helped so many children and their families. Our school crossing patrols to a brilliant job at keeping our children safe crossing the road – it’s a very rewarding role.
