Residents are being asked to do their bit and hang on to their unwanted clothes instead of donating them.
Please don’t drop off unwanted clothes at textile recycling banks or leave donations next to them. This includes textile recycling banks at supermarkets, community recycling sites or at the Household Recycling Centres.
This is because textile recyclers have suspended their collections to protect the health of key workers and the public.
Please avoid putting clothing in your bins; many garments are essential to charities when they are able to accept donations again. Other items can be repaired, refashioned, upcycled or passed on. If you would still like to donate them, please wait until they can be recycled again.
