North Killingholme is stepping up its road safety game thanks to a £2,395 community grant that’s helping fund a brand-new speed indicator device.
The device, which will be installed in a key location within the village, is designed to encourage drivers to slow down and be more mindful of their speed – especially in areas where there are families, children, and older residents.
Cllr Richard Hannigan, cabinet member for independent families – adults and health, said: “This is a brilliant safety boost for the village, and comes following concerns raised by residents.
“The speed indicator device doesn’t just flash numbers, it sends a clear message that North Killingholme is a community that cares and taking action to make local roads safer.
“The project is a great example of how small investments can make a big difference, bringing peace of mind, safer streets, and a stronger sense of community.
“The next time you’re driving through North Killingholme, ease off the accelerator – the village is watching, and it’s all about keeping everyone safe.”
Since it kicked off in 2011, the Community Grant Fund has been quietly powering up local ambitions and channelling millions into projects across North Lincolnshire.
From buzzing youth groups and passionate sports clubs to creative charities and hard-working parish councils, these grants are all about helping communities thrive and local talent shine.
Whether you’re a junior football team needing kit, a choir looking for a rehearsal space, or an artist with a bold idea, there’s support waiting for you. Grants are open to youth and community groups, charities, not-for-profit organisations and even individuals doing amazing things in sport, art or culture.
