Visitors will be able to enjoy everything North Lincolnshire Council’s major tourist attractions have to offer from the comfort of their own homes with three newly-launched 3D online tours.

These exciting tours will enable residents to sit back and take their time really getting to know the exhibitions at North Lincolnshire Museum on Oswald Road, Scunthorpe,  the Rural Life Museum in Normanby Park and historic Normanby Hall itself.

As well as wandering around at your own pace, visitors can click on information points to discover more about the venues and their exhibits.

The tours also have added hotspots which include additional content such as key information and even videos.

The roll-out of the 3D tours follows the successful launch in May of a tour of 20-21 Visual Arts Centre in Church Square, Scunthorpe, developed by Lincoln-based Bee3D Ltd.

The 3D experience means the venues are now accessible to people with mobility issues and other health conditions, as well as allowing visitors to explore and digest information in their own time.

It also means people can stay up to date with new exhibits and exhibitions, as the tours will be regularly re-recorded to keep them up to date.

The high-tech tours have also been recorded so they are compatible with VR headsets, so headset owners can enjoy a truly immersive experience.

If the tours have whetted your appetite for more, don’t forget there is nothing like seeing the exhibitions in real life – the venues are all open and following Covid-secure guidelines.
