North Lincolnshire Council has today launched Inspiring People – a News Direct Podcast, a new series celebrating local residents whose ideas, energy and commitment are helping the area thrive.
Each episode features honest, in-depth conversations with people driving positive change across North Lincolnshire – from innovators and entrepreneurs to volunteers, community organisers and leaders shaping services that matter to local people.
The first episode, available now on Spotify and YouTube, features Sue Rands, founder of Rands Solicitors. Sue shares the story behind building a trusted local law firm, her dedication to supporting families through often challenging moments, and her belief in the importance of accessible, community-focused legal advice.
Listeners will hear candid reflections on leadership, resilience, and balancing business growth with delivering what matters for local people – alongside her journey growing up in Ashby and later studying law.
Cllr Rob Waltham, leader of North Lincolnshire Council, said: “Inspiring People is about celebrating the individuals who make North Lincolnshire such a great place to live and work. Sue’s story is one of determination, integrity and service – a brilliant start to the series.
“We’ve got a great line-up guests already in booked and I’m looking forward to hearing their stories and sharing them.”
The podcast forms part of News Direct, the council’s platform for transparency and engagement – sharing trusted information through print, digital and now podcasts to help residents stay informed and connected.
Episodes will be released regularly, featuring guests from across the region with stories of innovation, compassion and impact.
