Cllr Janet Lee has been elected and sworn in as the 30th Mayor at the council’s annual Mayor Making ceremony.
The new mayor, Cllr Janet Lee ward member for Broughton and Scawby, was elected at the council’s annual meeting on 14 May alongside her Consort Mr Robert Lee. She said:
‘It is an honour and privilege to be elected as the 30th Mayor of North Lincolnshire. I am proud to represent our communities and look forward to meeting residents, businesses and organisations across the county during my year in office.”
Cllr Janet Lee has chosen to support Macmillan Cancer Support Scunthorpe and Hope House through the Mayor’s Appeal Fund. She said:
“I am pleased to support Macmillan Cancer Support Scunthorpe and Hope House, two charities that make a real difference to the lives of so many people.”
The outgoing Mayor, Cllr Carol Ross raised a total of £25,882.91 throughout her term for Jen’s Special Place and Macmillan Cancer Support Scunthorpe. Cllr Ross will be the new Deputy Mayor, and her Deputy Consort is Mrs Rachael Watchorn.
