Let’s Get Ready for School event – An opportunity for parents and children to prepare for this monumental time, together

Is your child starting primary school in September?

A community event to support parents and carers with their children starting school is taking place on Saturday 20 May between 10am and 3pm at The Baths Hall in Scunthorpe.

The event has been organised in conjunction with schools and health partners. There will be a range of professionals available for parents and carers to talk to on the day and to answer any questions or queries parents may have in relation to their child starting school.

Families will be able to speak with a range of professionals including:

• Health Visitors
• Community Nursery Nurses
• Community and Family Learning
• Community Dental Service
• School catering
• Early Years and childcare providers
• Schools
• Special Educational Needs and Disability, Information, Advice and Support Service (SENDIASS)
• Ethnic Minority and Traveller Achievement Service (EMTAS)

Services will be available to provide information, advice, guidance, and support on ways to help prepare their child for school.

In addition, there are children’s activities including storytelling, arts and crafts and a free goody bag for the first 140 children, which includes a copy of a book about starting school.
