North Lincolnshire Council is celebrating exceptional feedback following the most recent Ofsted inspection of its Adult Education and Community Learning provision. The inspection confirmed that the service continues to deliver high-quality learning opportunities, fostering skills, confidence and progression for adults across the region.
The inspection – carried out by His Majesty’s Inspectors and published on 11 February 2026 – praised the service’s highly inclusive, learner‑centred environment, its strong community impact, and its unwavering commitment to supporting adults, particularly those facing significant barriers, back into learning, wellbeing and employment.
It also highlighted the council’s commitment to accessible and effective community learning that responds to local needs and supports lifelong learning pathways.
Cllr Julie Reed, cabinet member for children, families and communities, said:
“This report is testament to the dedication and passion of our staff and tutors, and to the resilience and ambition of our learners.
“We are incredibly proud of this outcome as it shows that North Lincolnshire continues to provide high-quality learning opportunities that change lives and strengthen communities.
“Our adult education and community learning provision plays a vital role in equipping people of all backgrounds with the skills they need to grow personally, professionally and socially, and I congratulate everyone involved in achieving this success.”
Inspectors noted that safeguarding arrangements are robust and that learners across a range of courses feel safe, valued and well supported by tutors and staff.
The service’s curriculum continues to align with community priorities, offering practical courses that meet learners’ aspirations while contributing to local economic and social wellbeing.
The council remains committed to building on this achievement – continuing to invest in community learning, expanding opportunities for all adults, and ensuring that provision remains responsive, inclusive and impactful.
