Young people in Scunthorpe are benefitting from sports sessions and a residential trip thanks to a £4,810 grant awarded by North Lincolnshire Council.
The funding enabled the Your Wellbeing project to run weekly swimming and badminton sessions at local venues, as well as an out-of-region residential trip.
The programme was open to young people from the Kingsway with Lincoln Gardens and Crosby & Park areas.
Cllr Rob Waltham, leader of North Lincolnshire Council, said: “This project is a fantastic example of how our grant funding is making a real difference to young people’s lives. It’s about more than just sport, it’s about giving them confidence and the opportunity to try something new.
“By backing projects like this, we’re investing in the future of our communities and helping young people to be healthier, happier, and more resilient.”
The activities give young people the chance to build confidence, learn new skills, develop independence, and enjoy new experiences, all while improving their fitness and wellbeing.
