Eastoft Village Hall has received a welcome upgrade to its kitchen facilities, thanks to a £4,633 grant from North Lincolnshire Council. The funding was awarded to the Eastoft Community Welfare Association through the council’s Community Grant Fund, enabling essential improvements to the well-used community space. The upgraded kitchen will enhance the hall’s ability to host events and activities for residents of all ages.
Cllr Rob Waltham, leader of North Lincolnshire Council, said: “It’s fantastic to see community grant funding making a real impact in our local areas. Eastoft Village Hall is a vital hub for the community, and these kitchen upgrades will benefit everyone who uses the space.” He added: “If you’re part of a group or an individual in North Lincolnshire who could benefit from funding, visit the council’s website to explore available grants and how to apply.”
Cllr Julie Reed, cabinet member for children and families, said: “Community spaces like Eastoft Village Hall play a vital role in bringing people together. I’m delighted to see the Community Grant Fund being used to improve facilities that support families, clubs, and local events. These upgrades will make a real difference to everyday life in the village.”
Cllr Ian Bint, ward member for Axholme North, added: “This project is a brilliant example of how targeted investment can improve the quality and usability of local facilities. The new kitchen will make it easier for the hall to host everything from coffee mornings to community celebrations, and I’m pleased the council could support such a meaningful upgrade.”
Since its enhancement in 2011, North Lincolnshire Council’s Community Grant Fund has channelled millions of pounds into community-led projects. From youth groups and charities to town and parish councils, hundreds of initiatives have benefited – each one a testament to the resilience and creativity of local residents. Grants are available for junior and youth groups, charitable bodies, co-operatives, not-for-profit organisations, and individuals demonstrating excellence in sport, art, or culture. Support is also available for premises hire, helping ensure that community spaces like Eastoft Village Hall continue to serve local people for years to come.
