The Redbourn Club in Scunthorpe has been given a fresh new look following a refurbishment supported by North Lincolnshire Council’s community grant scheme.

The App Frod. Sports & Social Club has been awarded £13,710 to upgrade the community rooms, which are regularly used by local groups and residents.

The work has modernised the main function room, making it more comfortable, accessible, and better equipped to host a variety of activities, events, and meetings.

Cllr Rob Waltham, leader of North Lincolnshire Council, said: “We are keeping our promise to support local communities across North Lincolnshire with this funding. Local clubs and community facilities like this one are vital for bringing people together, supporting wellbeing, and creating opportunities. This investment will help ensure the Redbourn Club can continue to offer high-quality rooms that meet the needs of the community now and into the future. When I visited the club this week it was clear they had some exciting plans to support the community and they are already making a big impact.”

The Redbourn Club, based on Cemetery Road in Scunthorpe, is home to a variety of sports, social and community events. The refurbished rooms will provide an improved environment for the many groups and activities that rely on the venue.

Through the community grant scheme, the council helps deliver projects that enhance local facilities, strengthen communities, and inspire more residents to get involved in neighbourhood life.
