A new tranche of traders have been welcomed to Scunthorpe’s St John’s Market, with more to set up stalls in the summer months.

There are now more than 46 local traders under one roof, offering everything from bacon to beauty therapies.

The market was established in a former department store in March 2019, repurposing the building and helping support local traders.

It is already the go-to place for fresh food, including fruit, vegetables, baked goods and butchers.

Leader of North Lincolnshire Council, Cllr Rob Waltham said: “St John’s Market sees thousands of people through the door each week as it continues to go from strength to strength.

“In the last 12 months alone, 14 new traders have been welcomed to the shopping centre, a brand-new indoor soft play area installed, and even more traders set to arrive soon.

“Shopping local not only boosts the local economy, but it also helps small independent businesses to thrive.

“For anyone who is interested in setting up their business St John’s Market is a great place to start.”

Recent arrivals include UK Hair and Beauty Awards finalists Caya Jai Aesthetics and Perfect Gift Award winners Pixie’s Attic, which sells handmade nursery signs and home décor.
