Can you help shape the future of Scunthorpe? 

Residents and community organisations across Scunthorpe are being invited to help shape the town’s future as delivery begins on a major new investment programme with funding and support agreed for the next four years. 

A new Scunthorpe Neighbourhood Community Steering Group is being established. The group will bring together residents, community organisations and local leaders to share insight, shape priorities and help guide investment decisions. 

Members will provide real feedback on what is working in communities, highlight local needs, and bring forward ideas and opportunities. The group will also act as a link between neighbourhoods and decision-makers, helping ensure people feel informed and involved. 

The work will focus on key priorities including improving neighbourhoods, supporting health and wellbeing, creating opportunities for children and young people, boosting skills and employment, and strengthening community resilience. 

Dr Faisel Baig, chair of Scunthorpe Neighbourhood Board, said: 

“We are looking for local people who want to make a real difference to Scunthorpe to come forward and help guide this exciting project for the town. By grounding delivery in local experience, the group will make sure investment reflects real local needs and delivers lasting impact. 

“Expressions of interest are now being invited from voluntary and community groups, faith organisations, young people, and others active in Scunthorpe. 

“This is an opportunity to play a direct role in shaping the future of the town and ensuring this programme works for local people.”
