Apply for market consent

If you want to run a market, car boot sale, or hold an event in North Lincolnshire that has five or more stalls, you must apply for an Occasional Market Consent. This includes events in schools, village halls or other buildings.

Markets play a vital role in the local economy and we want to see more of them in North Lincolnshire. Whilst we want to encourage more markets to take place in North Lincolnshire, we must ensure that they are safe and enjoyable places to visit.

You can apply for consent online. If you would like to discuss your application with the Events team before making an application, please contact us. We can provide you with policies, procedures, guidance notes and risk assessment templates if required.

You may also need to apply to the Event Safety Advisory Group, for example if you are expecting more than 500 people at your event.

Contact the Occasional Market teamoccasional.markets@northlincs.gov.uk

Fees and charges for Occasional Market Consent applications

Organisers of charity and not-for-profit events will not have to pay any fees except for a £10 administration charge per application. (You apply for more than one event per application.)

The following fees and charges, plus VAT, will be applied to any market operator who is making a profit from the market, where this is not donated to a charity. All applications are subject to an additional £10 administration charge.
