Visitors to Normanby Hall Country Park can enjoy an outdoor exhibition of stunning photographs this summer.

Earlier this year, the park teamed up with the International Garden Photographer of the Year (IGPOTY) to host the first ever Normanby Photography Award.

A strong selection of photographs was submitted, with first place awarded to Calvin Taylor Lee for his picture ‘Young Fallow Deer’. Bob Riach and Tracy Marsden secured second and third place respectively.

Now, visitors have the chance to see all three photographs displayed next to the Sunken Garden at Normanby Park, alongside a selection of images from the main IGPOTY categories.

Cllr Rob Waltham, leader of North Lincolnshire Council, and Cllr Carl Sherwood presented the winners with their prizes and certificates earlier this week.

Reflecting on his award-winning photograph, Calvin Taylor Lee said:

“Wow, I didn’t expect to be a winner of this photography award as there are plenty of other good local photographers around North Lincolnshire.

“I set out in the early morning to capture photographs of the deer, lots of young ones walk about in the park; but I managed to capture this young fallow deer with a forest-filled background.

“I’m feeling grateful and over the moon for this award.”

Cllr Sherwood, cabinet member for safer, stronger communities – rural at North Lincolnshire Council, said:

“Congratulations to Calvin for his brilliant photograph and a huge well done to all the other entrants on a superb selection of shots.

“These pictures capture Normanby Hall at its brilliant best and it is wonderful to see them showcased in the grounds this summer.

“With memberships starting from as little as £18.38, there has never been a better time to discover the award-winning park. Explore the history of the hall, swing through the trees on Go Ape, enjoy a round of golf or cool off in the Splash Pad – however you choose to spend your day, Normanby has fun for all the family.”

The exhibition runs to 9 September 2021.
