Congratulations on your new arrival! The birth of a baby is a special and exciting time but don’t forget to register the birth.
All births in England, Wales and Northern Ireland must be registered within 42 days (six weeks) of the child being born.
You can do this at your local register office or at selected Family Hubs across North Lincolnshire.
The Register Office is located at Scunthorpe Central, Carlton Street, Scunthorpe DN15 6TX. Appointments are available Monday-Friday.
The Family Hubs where you can register a birth are Live Well Isle of Axholme Hub, Barton Family Hub and Brigg Family Hub. Appointments are available on Wednesdays on alternate weeks. You can find more information here. Our Family Hubs.
To make an appointment please contact the register office on registrars@northlincs.gov.uk or 01724 297000.
If you cannot register the birth in the area where the baby was born, you can go to another register office and they will send your details to the correct office. This is called ‘making a declaration’.
For more information please visit register a birth on Gov.UK.
You can apply for Child Benefit before completing the registration by visiting Gov.uk.
