What we offer

You can’t change the world, but you can change their world. Inspire the next generation: train to teach

Our offer

We offer a high quality, ambitious training programme designed to prepare trainees to become highly effective teachers in local schools and beyond.

North Lincolnshire SCITT offers research driven, bespoke training. The carefully sequenced curriculum allows trainees to consolidate learning and move forward in their practice. Throughout the course you will be supported by a centre-based tutor and a school-based mentor.

We train in:

Primary 5-11

A career in primary teaching is both exciting and rewarding. Our primary (5-11) programme combines evidence-based research and the latest educational theory with substantial practice in the classroom, giving you the opportunity to gain QTS and a PGCE awarded by Hull University.

Primary with SEND (5-11)

North Lincolnshire SCITT Partnership offer a specialist programme produced in collaboration with local special schools to ensure a comprehensive training route to Primary with SEND QTS.

You will follow the highly regarded core North Lincolnshire SCITT programme spending two terms in a mainstream classroom. You will spend term two in a special school (St Hugh’s or St Luke’s) where you will develop an understanding of teaching and learning in that setting, relating to more complex needs across the four broad areas of SEND – communication and interaction, cognition and learning, social, emotional and mental health, and sensory / physical needs.

You will gain first-hand insight and experience of how a specialised environment offers access to tailored resources, expertise and curriculum flexibility to meet individual need. This route is suitable for anyone who wants a career in SEND, whether teaching in a special school, alternative provision, specialist resource units, post-16 SEND setting or as a SENDCo in a mainstream school. The experience you will gain will be invaluable in your understanding of SEND and how to effectively support learning for pupils with SEND.
