Money matters
Growing up and becoming more independent means having to think about things like saving, budgeting, student finance, travel costs and much more. It can feel confusing and scary at times, filling in forms, understanding what they are talking about, is this right for me, what should I do now?
There is plenty of advice and information to help you find out about money and getting the basics right.
Parents
The best way for teenagers to learn about money is to handle it themselves. When they have their own budget to manage, they’ll quickly learn that money runs out and needs to be spent carefully. For further advice go to How to help your teenager learn about money (Money Helper WEBSITE) or try Money management for teens (Barclays website)
If you are looking for a first bank account for your teen try Go Henry. This bank account has a pre-paid debit card with parental controls to help you support your teen to learn about money.
Youth workers and teachers
Natwest Thrive have a free education and future skills programme that helps transform the way young people feel about money and their future.
