North Lincolnshire Council is looking for your votes to support local cafes, restaurants and food shops in the Lincolnshire Taste of Excellence Awards 2020.
Public votes will decide who makes it onto the shortlist and there has never been a better time to support our fantastic North Lincolnshire eateries.
Categories have been adapted to reflect the recent situation, so restaurants who offered food to go are included, as is anywhere who took part in the popular Eat Out To Help Out scheme.
There is also a special category for the best community food or shopping service.
Judges are keen to hear the reasons behind your nominations, so this is the opportunity to recognise any unsung heroes who went above and beyond the call of duty.
Gez Reilly, of the Wortley House Hotel, backed the call for votes, and described how his business had benefited from the Eat Out To Help Out scheme in August.
“The Eat Out To Help Out scheme has been a valuable boost to hospitality in general and on a local level, it’s been great for venues to open their doors to customers old and new.
“The Eat Out scheme gave us the opportunity to open our restaurant and bar to the general public and not just residents.
“This in turn gave us the opportunity to bring some of Team Wortley back from furlough.
“With some of the kitchen team back, we then got involved with local charity Bosom Family Support and we now produce 145 meals that are delivered by BFS volunteers every Friday into the community for people having cancer treatment.
“The Eat Out scheme coupled with some great community spirit has made a real difference to our business and our community.”
