Isle of Axholme residents are being urged to attend a consultation event at Epworth Leisure Centre on Thursday 29 July to tell us your views on plans to transform the venue into a community hub.

The scheme is part of North Lincolnshire Council’s £5m community investment programme to better meet the needs of individual communities, improving accessibility to council services.

A multi-use library, training kitchen, fitness studio and better parking facilities are some of the innovations that have already been suggested.

Residents will get the chance to view provisional plans and images, talk to officers and local councillors about the scheme, ask questions and fill in a consultation document.

The event is running from 2pm to 7.30pm in the North Lincolnshire Council consultation vehicle, which will be situated in the leisure centre car park off Burnham Road, DN9 1BZ.

Officers will also be staffing a stall at Epworth Food Fest in Kings Head Croft car park off Church Lane on Friday 30 July between 12 – 8pm where residents can also ask questions and give their views on the plans.

The project forms part of a wider scheme by the council to redevelop community hubs to deliver council services to the heart of our communities and enable local people to shape the spaces to best suit their own needs.

It follows transformations at The Market Hall in Crowle, the Baysgarth Hub in Barton, Ashby Hub and The Angel in Brigg.
