Older residents across North Lincolnshire are being offered free, hands-on digital skills sessions to help them stay connected, independent and confident in an increasingly online world.
Tech Together – delivered by Age UK Lincolnshire in partnership with North Lincolnshire Council – brings weekly, practical sessions directly into Community Hubs across the area.
From spotting scams and staying safe online to using apps, QR codes and everyday digital tools, the programme is designed to remove barriers and give people the confidence they need to manage daily tasks, stay in touch with family and make the most of modern services.
Cllr Rob Waltham, leader of North Lincolnshire Council, said: “People tell us they want support that genuinely improves their day-to-day lives – this is exactly that.
“Helping older residents stay confident, connected and independent things that matter for communities. No one should feel shut out or left behind.”
The free sessions are Government-funded and come as part of a bold package of help from North Lincolnshire Council – older residents are receiving extra fuel payments, free winter warm packs and low-energy appliances to cut bills and stay safe at home.
Cllr Tim Mitchell, cabinet member for transformation and sustainability, said: “Every pound of support must make a real difference, and Tech Together will do that.
“These sessions give people the tools to stay safe, access services more easily and keep control in a digital age. It’s practical, it’s local, and it’s the kind of help that changes lives.”
