A new, exciting talent show is coming to Scunthorpe! Save the date – it will take place on Saturday 20 April 2024 at The Baths Hall.

Talented North Lincolnshire residents of any age – singers, dancers, musicians, acrobats, magicians, jugglers, comedians, dog whisperers – are all encouraged to apply to have their moment in the Spotlight!

Entrants will have the chance to take to the stage to share their talent in front of a panel of judges and a live audience, competing for the grand prize of £1000 which has been generously sponsored by Jason Threadgold Funeral Director.

Speaking as headline sponsor for this community event, Jason said: “Both Nichola and Jason of Jason Threadgold Funeral Director are proud to be sponsoring this event in aid of the Mayor’s Appeal Fund.

“We look forward to finding great talent in our community.”

Spotlight! The Big North Lincolnshire Talent Show will take place on behalf of The Mayor’s Appeal Fund.

This year, the Mayor’s chosen charities are Macmillan Cancer Support and Hope House BFS.

The Mayor of North Lincolnshire, Cllr Janet Longcake, said: “What exciting news for North Lincolnshire! Spotlight! is the perfect opportunity to celebrate the vast amount of diverse talent within our community.

“I am delighted to be involved with this event which, as well as being something for all ages to enjoy, is also a chance to raise funds for two very important charities.

“So whatever your talent or age, I’d encourage anyone to enter – you never know, it could be you walking away with the grand prize of £1000!”

Entries open at 10am on Monday 11 September and close at 7pm on Tuesday 31 October. Entrants will need to complete an online application form and send in a short video clip, of no more than two minutes, showcasing their talent.

Videos will be sent and received via a secure online platform.

Applications will be shortlisted on Wednesday 1 November by a judging panel consisting of local people within the arts and successful entrants will be invited to the live auditions which will take place in January 2024.

Tickets for the show will be available to purchase from November.

More information, including the full details of the application process and how to buy tickets are yet to be revealed but will be added to the North Lincolnshire Council website.
