Drivers using the Scawby and Broughton crossroads will soon benefit from a major upgrade designed to make journeys safer, smoother and more reliable.
The busy A18 and B1207 junction has been identified as a priority for improvement following a detailed review.
A new scheme is being developed to introduce four-way traffic signals, improve lighting and resurface the road – all aimed at reducing the risk of accidents and keeping traffic moving safely.
Cllr Rob Waltham, leader of North Lincolnshire Council, said: “People can and do travel safely and confidently, wherever they live – these improvements will increase the safety for motorists across the area.
“I regularly use this route and I know the investment will help protect drivers and passengers, preventing collisions and giving families peace of mind every time they travel along the road.”
Detailed design and preparation are now underway, with construction expected to begin in the spring once final plans and contracts are in place.
Cllr Neil Poole, deputy leader of the council, added: “We’re acting on the evidence, making changes where they’ll make the biggest difference. These improvements will make the junction safer and more predictable for everyone – residents, commuters and visitors alike.”
