A host of roads through Winterton will be resurfaced as part of the council’s latest strategic investment programme.

Winteringham Road, North Street, West Street and Northlands Road South – including the mini-roundabout at the junction with Earlsgate – will be resurfaced through late July and into August.

Cllr Rob Waltham, leader, North Lincolnshire Council, said: “We are keeping our promise and will crack on with the investment in improving the road network across North Lincolnshire – including getting on top of winter potholes.

“We recently completed works through many areas in Scunthorpe, Ashby and Bottesford as well as Burringham and Barton – now we are moving on to Winterton.”

Full road closures will be in place with much of the work carried out in phases at different times of the day to minimise disruption – with further details to be shared. Residents affected by the temporary closures will be contacted and access to homes and businesses will be maintained.

Cllr Neil Poole, cabinet member for highways operations, said: “It’s great to be able to confirm these works will take place, investing further in Winterton and backing the communities there.

“It is a never-ending task managing and maintaining the road network but with new technology we are able to deliver these schemes quicker than before and they last longer.”

An exact schedule will be published shortly, although plans at present are that the works will be carried out across a number of weeks through the summer holidays.

Winteringham Road works will take place Monday to Friday between 7pm and 6am, North Street, West Street and Northlands Road to be carried out Monday to Friday between 8am and 6pm and the mini-roundabout will be completed between 7pm and 11pm.

Local contractor Britcon has been awarded the contract.
