Over the Christmas period, businesses can have a pop-up stall at St John’s Market in Scunthorpe on its ‘Christmas Street’ until the end of January 2020.

The stalls are available on short term lets on a month by month basis from now until the end of January, with the opportunity to extend to a longer term licence.

The ‘Christmas Street’ will complement what is already available at St John’s Market – unique gift ideas that you can’t find on the High Street.

Whether its arts and crafts, clothing, food, gifts, footwear or an activity provider, businesses are encouraged to take up a pop-up stall and take advantage of the Christmas footfall.

Businesses interested in having a pop-stall should email newmarket@northlincs.gov.uk.

Stall prices start from £52 a week for retail and £89 a week for food court units. With unit sizes ranging from 9m2 to 15m2.

Cllr Richard Hannigan, cabinet member for place shaping at North Lincolnshire Council, said:

“This is a brilliant opportunity for a retail or food business to ‘try before they buy’ at St John’s Market. Located right next to the bus station and multi-storey car park, the market is the ideal location for businesses. If St John’s Market is the right fit, there will be the chance for businesses to open up a permanent stall.

“We are looking for a whole range of businesses to take up a pop-up stall to complement the existing offer. The market will have a real festive feel, which will enhance the whole shopping experience. If you’re interested in taking up a stall, get in touch with the market team.

“The market is going from strength to strength since it opened in March this year. More recently we have had new stalls open – helping put St John’s Market on the map as a prime shopping destination in North Lincolnshire.”

In the run up to Christmas, St John’s Market will have extended opening hours including:

  • Sunday 22 December from 10am to 4pm
  • Monday 23 December from 7.30am to 5pm
  • Christmas Eve from 7am to 3pm

It will be closed on Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day.
