North Lincolnshire pensioners aged 66 and above are set to boost their health and wellness with the launch of NL Active’s free fitness initiative. This exciting program aims to encourage seniors to get active, boost their energy levels and connect with their community.
Participants can take advantage of free, off-peak access to the gym, swimming, and Les Mills Virtual fitness classes in NL Active facilities across North Lincolnshire.
Cllr Richard Hannigan cabinet member for adults and health, expressed his enthusiasm for the program and said: “This is a fantastic opportunity for our senior residents to improve their health and well-being while socialising and staying active.
“We are leading the way in promoting fitness for all, creating opportunities for pensioners to thrive.
“This free program is bringing accessible fitness solutions straight to the heart of North Lincolnshire and I encourage every pensioner across the county to take advantage of this wonderful initiative.”
The Fit for Free offer will be available for eligible individuals to redeem until March 2026.
In addition to the core off-peak offer there will also be additional Fit for Free sessions and taster activities such as racket sports and walking sports timetabled throughout the year.
Existing NL Active members aged 66 plus will also benefit from this offer as payments will be suspended for two months meaning they too can keep fit for free.
Local residents aged 16 years and above with a learning disability can also take advantage of this great opportunity to get Fit for Free in NL Active facilities soon.
