As the Covid-19 vaccine begins to roll out nationally, a number of North Lincolnshire residents have begun to receive theirs today.
A thousand vaccines have been delivered to the area, which will be distributed to those who need it most across the next three days.
Those aged over 80, healthcare staff and care home residents are being offered the vaccine, with the first dose administered at the Cedar Medical Practice in Scunthorpe’s Ironstone Centre.
Harry and Mary Williams, 91 and 88, were among the first people to receive the vaccine having just celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary together. Mary said “It’s been hard self-isolating. We’ve missed our friends. This vaccine gives us hope.”
