A suite of new waste bins is being installed in the Crosby area of Scunthorpe – with street cleaning rounds increased too.
It comes as North Lincolnshire Council targets litter hotspots across the area in the latest phase of its crack-down on litter louts.
Cllr Rob Waltham, leader of North Lincolnshire Council, said: “We will not rest until people stop dropping litter and we have pledged to keep doing our bit so there can be no excuses.
“There are hundreds of bins across the areas and we are now installing even more to ensure there is no reason why people litter.
“We will keep investing to fight against this anti-social behaviour, ensuring we do everything we possibly can to keep people safe and well. But this must be met in kind by people and they need to stop dropping litter.”
Now 18-months into a two-year trial of fining people £150 if caught dropping litter, more than 2,000 people have been fined with some stung for more than £400 after refusing to pay, only to be slapped with additional fees in court.
