New entry signs are being planned for the main routes in and out of Scunthorpe.

It comes as hundreds of millions of pounds of Government cash is being invested in several projects across North Lincolnshire – creating thousands of jobs and supporting the area to thrive.

Millions alone will be invested in the town through the Future High Streets Fund, the Town Deal and the Levelling-Up Fund.

To coincide with the wider development, plans have been submitted for the new signage which will carry images of the town’s award-winning parks and gardens.

Cllr Rob Waltham, leader, North Lincolnshire Council said:

“We have a rolling programme to update and refresh all signage for the many beautiful towns and villages across North Lincolnshire.

“The existing signs for Scunthorpe have been in place for a number of years and have fallen into disrepair.

“The welcome to Scunthorpe signs should be fit for purpose as we welcome hundreds of millions of government cash which is backing our plans for growth to create new, well paid, sustainable jobs.”
