Bus service 97, known as the Isle Shopper, has been extended with the introduction of the new 97A service starting on Tuesday 12 November to include a stop at Gallagher Retail Park in Scunthorpe, providing even more convenience for passengers.

Bus service 97 will continue to run on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays covering Sandtoft, Wroot, Westwoodside, Haxey, Epworth, Belton, Ealand, Crowle, Eastoft, Luddington and Garthorpe.

Meanwhile, bus service 97A will run on Tuesdays and Fridays covering Sandtoft, Wroot, Westwoodside, Haxey, Epworth, Belton, Gallagher Retail Park, Ealand and Crowle.

Cllr Tim Mitchell, cabinet member for connectivity, said:

“It is brilliant to see even more enhancements being made to bus services across North Lincolnshire to help residents access buses at better times, on more days and in more locations. Residents in the Isle of Axholme can now visit larger retail outlets via the Isle Shopper using the new 97A service. This is great timing for Christmas as it means there is improved access to shopping in North Lincolnshire.

“This follows on from recent improvements to bus services elsewhere, including the Normanby Hall Country Park Saturday bus being extended until the end of the year, a new evening and late-night service for Epworth and the £1 bus fare for young people which ran again in October half term.”
