On Sunday 9 March, the Mayor of North Lincolnshire, Cllr Janet Longcake is hosting a ceremony at Normanby Hall at 10am to remember loved ones and reflect on the impact of the pandemic five years on.

There will be a short ceremony followed by a commemorative tree being planted alongside a plaque. Anyone wishing to attend is asked to arrive by 9.50am and head to the hall.

Representatives from the council, health services, Humberside Police and Humberside Fire and Rescue Service will be in attendance.

Cllr Janet Longcake, Mayor of North Lincolnshire, said:

“This ceremony gives people in North Lincolnshire the chance to reflect on the pandemic, remember loved ones and pay tribute to all the people who made sacrifices to help others.

“If you would like to be a part of the commemorations, then please do come along to the ceremony.”

2025 marks the fifth anniversary of the pandemic, and the Day of Reflection is an opportunity for people to remember and commemorate those who lost their lives during the pandemic, reflect on the sacrifices made and the impact on our daily lives, and pay tribute to the work of health and social care staff, frontline workers, researchers and all those who volunteered and showed acts of kindness during this unprecedented time.
