Make your voice heard – register to vote in the 2024 general election

It is not too late to register to vote in the upcoming general election and make sure your voice counts.

The deadline for registering to vote is 11.59pm on Tuesday 18 June.

If you apply after that you won’t be able to cast your vote on 4 July 2024.

Registering takes about five minutes online, or you can fill in a paper form.

Don’t forget you now need photo identification to vote. This can be a number of things, including a passport or driving licence – go to the Electoral Commission website for a full list.

If you don’t have ID you can apply for a Voter Authority Certificate up until 5pm on 26 June 2024.

• Deadline for receiving applications for registration to vote – Tuesday 18 June (11.59pm)
• Deadline for receiving new postal vote and postal proxy applications, and for changes to existing postal or proxy votes – Wednesday 19 June (5pm)
• Deadline for receiving new applications to vote by proxy – Wednesday 26 June (5pm)
• Deadline for receiving applications for Voter Authority Certificates – Wednesday 26 June (5pm)
• First date to apply for a replacement for lost or spoilt postal votes – Friday 28 June
