Residents of Coleby now have quicker access to emergency medical care, thanks to the installation of a new defibrillator funded by North Lincolnshire Council.
North Lincolnshire Council have awarded a grant of £1,305 to West Halton and Coleby Parish Council to purchase and install the life-saving device at the heart of the village. In cases of cardiac arrest, every second counts and this vital piece of equipment could make the difference between life and death.
Cllr Rob Waltham, leader of North Lincolnshire Council, said: “We are committed to keeping our communities safe and well and funding this defibrillator reflects that commitment.”
Cllr Ralph Ogg, cabinet support for flooding, farming and rural communities added: “Having access to life-saving equipment in all our communities is essential, and I’m pleased that Coleby residents now have this vital support close to home.”
North Lincolnshire Council’s Community Grant Fund delivers investment in junior and youth groups, charitable bodies, trusts, co-operatives, industrial and provident societies, not-for-profit constituted organisations, and town and parish councils. Individual grants are also available if you can demonstrate excellence in sport, art or culture. Junior and youth groups can also apply for grants for premises hire. Since 2011 when the grant was first upgraded, hundreds of projects have benefited from £millions in funding for communities right across North Lincolnshire.
