The Greater Lincolnshire Apprenticeship Champion Awards are back for 2024 – with applications now being accepted from across the whole of Lincolnshire.
It comes after North and North East Lincolnshire councils have backed the awards for the first time, joining with Lincolnshire County Council.
Nominations are open across three award categories to recognise the successes of apprentices, their employers and training providers.
Cllr Rob Waltham, leader, North Lincolnshire Council, said: “It’s great news these awards are now welcoming nominations from North and North East Lincolnshire.
“These awards are a fantastic opportunity to recognise and celebrate apprentices, employers and training providers across the whole of Lincolnshire.
“We are working better together than ever before across Lincolnshire and it is really important we carry on doing so – apprenticeships enable people to earn while they learn, they give people the skills they need to develop a rewarding career, and it’s right we should come together to celebrate this.”
The three categories for entries are:
- Greater Lincolnshire Apprentice Champion
- Greater Lincolnshire Apprenticeship Employer Champion
- Greater Lincolnshire Apprenticeship Training Provider Champion
Award winners need to demonstrate commitment, excellence in skills development and a clear drive to support success and growth.
Cllr Patricia Bradwell, executive councillor for adult learning at Lincolnshire County Council, said: “We’ve run these awards for two years now, and I’ve been so impressed with the impact that apprenticeships have had on both the individuals undertaking them, and the organisations they’ve worked in.
“I’m delighted that this year the awards will cover even more learners and organisations as we cover the whole Greater Lincolnshire area.”
An awards event will be held in May 2024 to celebrate those short-listed for awards and to announce the winners.
The Greater Lincolnshire Apprenticeship Champion Awards are run in partnership between the Public Service Compact Group, local councils and the Greater Lincolnshire Local Enterprise Partnership (GLLEP).
