New Holland’s maritime history will be celebrated with a new ship planter thanks to a £3589 grant from North Lincolnshire Council.
New Holland Parish Council has been awarded the grant to create a heritage-inspired ship planter in the village.
The ship planter will celebrate New Holland’s maritime history and create an attractive, welcoming feature for residents and visitors. It’s part of the parish council’s ongoing work to improve the village and build community pride.
North Lincolnshire Council’s Community Grant Fund supports non-profit organisations with social aims to deliver capital projects that benefit their communities through sport, arts or heritage.
The fund also supports talented individuals to become the very best that they can in their chosen activity.
Cllr Rob Waltham, leader of North Lincolnshire Council, said: “We’re proud to support New Holland Parish Council. This ship planter will not only brighten the village but also celebrate its rich maritime heritage.
“Projects like this make a real difference at a local level, bringing people together, strengthening identity, and enhancing our public spaces.”
North Lincolnshire Council continues to invest in initiatives that make North Lincolnshire a great place to live, work and visit.
The funding has come from North Lincolnshire Council’s Community Grant Scheme, which backs local groups and projects that help communities thrive. To find out more about the scheme, including how to apply, visit the North Lincolnshire Council website.
Since its enhancement in 2011, North Lincolnshire Council’s Community Grant Fund has channelled millions of pounds into community-led projects. From youth groups and charities to town and parish councils, hundreds of initiatives have benefited – each one a testament to the resilience and creativity of local residents.
Grants are available for junior and youth groups, charitable bodies, co-operatives, not-for-profit organisations, and individuals demonstrating excellence in sport, art, or culture.
