Major road improvement works between Brigg and Caistor will start next week, thanks to an investment from the Department of Transports’ Safer Roads Scheme.

The road reconstruction project will get underway on Monday 22 March and will help to make journeys along the A1084 safer and smoother for motorists.

The first phase of the work, from Brigg to Bigby, is expected to last for five weeks, during which time diversions will be in place.

Improvements to the A1084 come in the wake of other major infrastructure projects.

Earlier this month, resurfacing work started through the Isle of Axholme, between Graizelound to the junction with the A18 near Ealand. By summer, investment along the A161 is anticipated to top £2m.

Work has also driven forward on the ambitious £4.5m project to create a new northern junction on the M181.

Designed to ease congestion, while unlocking land for commercial and housing development, the works are expected to be completed by June.
