No need to book – just turn up between 1pm to 4pm.

Organised by North Lincolnshire Council in partnership with UCNL, it will be a fun festival event featuring live music from the Hedley Brothers, Fidelity Freak and Kayleigh Wilson on stage in the beautiful surroundings of Central Park.

There will also be a free climbing wall, bungee run, assault course and rodeo bull, as well as food stalls serving up fresh pizza, doughnuts – and Scunthorpe speciality dutty fries.

Alpacas and Friends will be also be bringing their mobile farm (small charge applies).

The event is ideal for over 13s and their families, as well as those returning to education or looking for a career change.

Advice and information will be available for everything from apprenticeships and the armed forces to university courses and vocational training.

Adam Hewitt, Director of Higher Education with responsibility for employability at UCNL, said: “At University Campus North Lincolnshire (UCNL) we’re committed to helping people from our local area take the next steps to further their career.

“A big part of that is through education but it’s also about working with employers and partners, such as the Council, to show people what opportunities are available.

“We are delighted to be hosting this major career event, with so many employers signed up to helping people succeed.

“We look forward to welcoming everyone to UCNL and supporting them to take the next steps in finding the job, or course that they are looking for.”

Visitors will get the chance to survey the UCNL roof with a drone from Joju Solar, who will also be giving a presentation on the day in the life of one of their electricians as well as the wider trends and opportunities for electricians.

UCNL will be carrying out tours of the building on the day as well as opening up their health suite, engineering labs and animal bio science rooms. They will also be giving drop-in careers advice including job searching and CV and cover letter writing in the main lecture room between 2pm and 3pm
