North Lincolnshire Council is on the lookout for a business to take on the running of the brand new café at Baysgarth Leisure Centre.

The council is seeking proposals from interested providers for this great opportunity.

Baysgarth Leisure Centre has been refurbished and an extension is currently under construction following a £2m investment from the council.

The extension is expected to be completed in summer 2019. Following the transformation, residents will be able to access a range of services under one roof. It will improve and expand services on offer in the Barton area; allowing greater access and flexibility.

The council is keen to hear from providers interested in this opportunity and find out their future aspirations relating to the development of the café.

If you are interested in finding out more about this opportunity, visit the Yortender website, click on ‘Current Opportunities’ and then click on ‘North Lincolnshire Council’ in the organisations drop down box.

You will need to submit a formal request for tender and provide detailed information about the proposed usage of the new facility, for example opening hours, and type of food and drink to be served.

The tender closes at 1pm on Thursday 28 March 2019.

In addition to the café, the transformation includes:

  • A purpose-built library
  • Customer information and advice area
  • Specific facilities for health and wellbeing support
  • Improved self-service and Wi-Fi access
  • Extended car park to accommodate more customers
  • Comprehensive, high quality leisure facilities

Cllr Neil Poole, cabinet member for Commercial, said:

“This huge investment in Baysgarth Leisure Centre will benefit residents of Barton and surrounding areas. A one-stop shop is being created in this new community facility to make it easier to access a whole range of services.

“We are now looking for a business to take on the operation of the café, which is a great opportunity for an existing provider or someone looking to start-up a business. You will have the chance to have your input in the running of the café and what is served.

“If you think you could offer a fantastic service at this new café in Barton, we want to hear from you.”
