North Lincolnshire Armed Forces Day returns to Scunthorpe on Saturday 21 June with a full day of family fun. Visitors can enjoy parades, displays, military equipment, live music, and more.
The legendary Red Devils will make a special appearance, alongside the flag raising, land-based displays, musical performances, and family activities. The event will take place at Brumby Hall Sports Ground in Scunthorpe from 11am to 5pm.
Always one of the most popular events of the year and a fantastic free day out, this year’s line-up is stronger than ever with a full schedule of activities for everyone to enjoy.
It’s a chance to show your support for the everyone in the armed forces community: from those currently in service, to veterans, cadets, and their families.
Things planned to keep the whole family entertained include:
- Red Devils Parachute Team (scheduled to land at approximately 11.45am) jumping into the arena with the armed forces flag. We advise guests arrive in plenty of time to get in position around the arena.
- A parade featuring Cadets and Veterans from the tri-services
- Army Cadets field drill displays
- RAF Air Cadets Band performance
- Veterans Big Band
- An interactive cadet village with games, challenges and more
- Beverley and District Pipe Band
- Firestorm Majorettes
- Twin Tigers Martial Arts displays
- Scunthorpe RUFC exhibition match
- Laura Handley (singer)
- Henry Bradshaw (singer)
- Stalls for local groups and organisations
- Mobile Bike Events BMX bike course – have a go sessions
- Stilt walker
- Climbing wall
- Face painting
- Paintball range
- Kids funfair rides
- Arts, crafts, and creative play
Please note that some events are subject to the weather and may have to be cancelled at short notice.
A range of food and drink stalls will also be there on the day, including ice cream, doughnuts, burgers, Greek street food, cakes, fudge, iced slush, and an outside bar. A dedicated picnic area will be available next to the stage, attendees are welcome to bring blankets and camping chairs to use on the day.

Bag checks will be conducted on entry to the event. No alcohol can be brought on to site but can be purchased in the event. No bikes.
Dogs are not allowed to the event except service dogs as the event is held on a sports pitch and livestock will be at the event.
Parking is available at UCNL. Disabled parking is available at the sports ground itself; a Blue Badge must be shown.
Armed Forces Day reflects the council’s continued commitment to the Armed Forces Covenant, having received Gold status in the Defence Employer Recognition Scheme in 2020.
