More than 1,500 fun free swims took place across the six pools in North Lincolnshire during the Easter break.
It meant hundreds of under-16s got to keep active, have fun and practice a life-saving skill – while parents saved cash.
The sessions, which took place at the council’s leisure centres in Brigg, Crowle, Barton-upon-Humber, the two Scunthorpe pools at the Pods and Riddings and at Epworth Swimming Pool, will be back as usual for the summer holidays.
Cllr Rob Waltham, leader of North Lincolnshire Council, said: “I am a big champion of our free swimming sessions.
“I am proud that we are continuing to invest in children and families here in North Lincolnshire. This is why we funded these extra swimming sessions in the Council budget set in February this year. Swimming is not just an important life skill, it is fun, promotes fitness and these sessions really help hard-working parents keep their children occupied in a safe environment.”
“We look forward to welcoming even more families back for our free sessions in July and August.”
